Despite the fact that Imam Sadr Foundation is a displaced foundation, we announce our readiness to resume many of our functions:

A partial displacement occurred since October 7th. 2023 when two primary health care centers stopped their services (in Ait Sha’ab and DeirSerian); their displaced staff joined the core premises in Sour, and were placed in the running operations; – A massive displacement took place since September 26th. Not only 98% of the working force were dispersed in almost every cadaster in Lebanon, but also the people for whom we established the entire infrastructure in term of schools, dispensaries, community kitchen, mobile clinics, community development projects, ateliers, etc. – Even the affiliated premises in Beirut suburb are not safe to access

An ad hoc emergency committee is established, its meetings are open (either in person or via e-mail, and other communication channels – A rapid assessment conducted, upon which we mapped the locations of the whole staff (525 persons) – A sub- survey is done to identify all the staff and volunteers who can afford taking part in the relief activities. – A second level of assessment is underway. It consists of assessing the emerging conditions of our students and their caregivers (1200 families) – The protection teams never stopped their support to prevent gender-based violent, to provide phyco-social support and to follow-up their pre-existing cases and any potential emerging issue of protection including child protection. Modalities of assistance vary and include person-to-person, hot-lines, WhatsApp and phone calls, distribution of dignity and hygiene kits. – Steady participation in the sector coordination mechanisms (food security, health, protection, WASH, nutrition, education) – Mobilization of ISF humanitarian partners to harmonize interventions and seek grants and support (so far, 3500 food parcels and 3000 dignity kits are under preparation) – Disbursement of salaries and allowances via various channels of money transfer (bank wires, cash, Wish and OMT)

If the escalation continues, the foundation will establish a temporary office to manage the emergency response and gather the key staff; – Coordinate with the existing partners and agree on the re-direction of the running grants – Mobilize additional funds and grants for the emergency response. – Deploy the newly created task forces.

Distribution of food parcels, ready-to-eat parcels, hygiene products, basic needs (mattresses, pillows, kitchen appliances) – Protection services including PSS, GBV, cash assistance to female-headed households and handicaps, – Education in emergency activities including toys, recreational and remedial classes – Health provisions including mental health via mobile clinics in collective shelters

Upon latest updates (end of September), more than one million persons are displaced; 210,000 are already registered in collective shelters. Upon our estimation, 250,000 are fairly accommodated with relatives, in their second apartments, or in rent houses, whereas more than half-a-million are still seeking a shelter – The displaced colleagues are required to identify, within their vicinities and outreach, the at-risk and most vulnerable refugees. This group will be the primary target of our distribution operation (mainly food) – On-line assistance (PSS, mental health, GBV) will be assured to ISF staff, ISF students and their caregivers, our database of patients) – Physical assistance in term of health services and protection will be delivered to the under-served collective shelters located in Beirut, Saida, Shouf and Ba’abda ( these localities are identified based on the preponderance of our staff in their new residency)
